P0022 error code

P0022 error code
I need someone help on this. Every 300-400 kms my car gives me a CEL and it goes away after 30-40 kms. I finally pulled the code and it's P0022 "A" camshaft position timing over retarded. Anyone have this issue before? I believe it's a sensor or a magnet.

K is usually the proven last word 😀 but I believe that if was the sensor the code would be P0340 for cam sensor circuit.
Unless I missed something these magnet assemblies appear to be fairly straightforward to replace. FCP Euro has a complete kit for less than $200 (all 4).

This is a M273 engine...... just replace all camshaft adjusters and be done with it. I have also seen cheap oil filter that come apart clog oil passages and cause timing codes.

i just got got back from picking up my car and getting those replaced. I will update in a month of it worked or not.
