Interior courtesy lighting.
I have a new to me 2014 E350 cab. Upon opening the door only rather dim lights in the foot wells come on. There are two sets of lights in the overhead console along with associated switches. Two I know are map lights and probably should not come on when opening the door. It would seem to me that the other two should. Does anyone know what switch or setting I should use to have those lights operate with the door opening? All of the console bulbs are good as I can turn them on with the door closed but they will not go out when I close the door, even as the foot well lights fade out.
On a related note, there seems to be a light in the glove box but it does not turn on either.
Any thoughts appreciated.

If you have an Operator's Manual, read it very carefully. If you don't someone here may be able to help you find the one on the MBUSA website.
Most of these things are covered in the Manual, but there are a lot of things in there.

In the overhead console- try pressing the second button from the back (looks like a car with the doors open and the word "OFF").

Yep, in the overhead. The rear overhead is controlled separtely by its own switch up there. Who turned them off?

Oops. Did not realize I had the wrong part of the forum. I will post in the correct one going forward.
I do have an owners manual but the switches do not seem to function as they should. I will give it another try.
I thought there might be some esoteric setting that I was missing. Mercedes Benz seems to be notorious for those.
Thanks for the replies and suggestions.
