W212 Safety Features
Hello forum activists,
My question today is about safety options in W212 E550 (pre-facelift).
Sorry there is already thread for it... I couldn't find.
I have 2013 E550 (vin WDDHF9BB2DA673365), Canadian version, which has got some nice features such as leather package (seats, doors, and dashboard), Driver Assist, Adaptive Headlights, Blind Spot Monitoring / Detection, Lane Departure Warning, airmatic, and Park Assist.
The question I have is whether my car has other safety features such as:
Do you guys know for sure which of the above existed in 2013 E550?
I used several VIN decoders and still couldn't say for sure what was equipped.
Thanks in advance.

The question I have is whether my car has other safety features such as:
- BAS - which I believe is supposed to apply full braking power even if the driver fails to do so.
- Lane Keep System - not to be confused with departure warning. Newer E classes can actually apply brakes and bring the car back in lines. Not sure about pre-facelifts.
- Will my car beep if the car in front of me stops? My car doesn't have Distronic so I know that it won't stop. But will it beep? Does it use the camera on the windshield for warning?
- Adaptive brake lights - will the rear brake lights flash when emergency braking?

I thought at least BAS would be installed, as the technology has been around for a long time. Also I have seen this model cars with adaptive brake lights (that flash when emergency stopping) on Youtube. But not sure if the NA version have that?
Facelift W212s without distronic use the camera to beep if the car in front stops, I think.
Do you know which of the above listed were available in pre-facelift w212?
Thanks.

I believe that no is the response to your questions. I previously owned a 2014 E350, that year was the first where Collision Warning was standard equip in the USA. Congrats on your ride. BTW, kudos to konigstiger for all his help, myself included.

Thanks to both of you!
I have an answer to one of my questions now.
The rest 3 are still open:

BAS provides maximum braking pressure in the event it detects a panic stop. It is not automatic, you have to initiate the stop.
Lane Keep Assist - this is paired with Blind Spot Assist in the USA - it is merely departure warning. Active Lane Keep Assist is paired with Distronic.
No flashing brake lamps on hard stops here in the US.

Thanks a lot. It is all clear to me now.
Too bad that flashing lights don't work in the US. I usually turn them on manually to warn the cars behind me.
