I've been looking at several high-mileage E550s with the 4.7 bi-turbo (80K miles, 95K miles, etc)

Are there any "common" issues I should be looking for when these near 100K miles?

Renntech tune? How long as the tune been in?

 

No big issues but checkout out the service bulletin sticky thread to see if you can identify any uncorrected issues as you shop.

 

30k mi (not a ton, but enough to give you a mid point between no miles and the really high milage cars.). Two issues, command system went insane within the first 10,000 miles (fixed under warranty, apparently a wire to the command system was clipped during assembly and shorted after a while..). Second issue is the pano sunshade rear portion gets stuck occasionally and then scares me half to death when it randomly unsticks with a huge slam.

First problem was a random assembly error, and has not been a problem since it was fixed ( though oddly enough my old C class had the same "random" assembly error...)
Second problem happens rarely, and isn't really a problem except when it slams at a stoplight and I panic thinking someone just ran into me..

Other than that ( and I really think they are problems specific to my vehicle), no problems so far. It is a great car, i absolutely love it!
