Fuel Pump Out?

This Monday morning my car would not start. It gave a very short try but then no start. The engine turns over very well and easily so I don't think it is a starter or battery issue. My battery is only 1 1/2 years old.

I'm suspecting the fuel pump went out. I checked all the fuses listed in the fuse chart and all fuses that I found were good. Some fuses were not in the marked places at all, there are 6 - 7 fuses marked for fuel pump.

Other than a fuse I would think there is a relay for the pump but the chart does not list that. Anyone know if there is a relay for the pump and where it might be located at?

Did not have time to check codes yet. My suspicion is due to not hearing the fuel pump prime noise when I turn the power ON.

So, had the car towed to the dealer and they said the car started up just fine after they charged the battery. They could not find anything wrong other than there is a TSB for software update for preventing "flooding" during cold weather start up. Never heard of such software update but they did this for my car.

I was also told that if I had held the gas pedal fully pressed it would have started.

Thanks for reporting back. in previous times, fully depressing the gas pedal while starting would clear a gas flood situation. Interesting.

^ yes, but that was with the old school carburetor to hold the butterflies open. Not sure what this does with an FI engine. I have never heard of this pedal stomp with an FI engine. Maybe I will check the manual and learn something.

I got the car back on last Saturday and parked it at the airport for this week so I only had two days to drive. It has been ok but I'll find out on this Saturday when I return from my trip. I hope it starts.
