COMAND System Same as My W204?
Hi guys,
I'm contemplating a W212 E63S to replace my W204 C63. One of the few things about my C63 that bugs me is the COMAND iPod interface: I've got 500+ artists and 5k+ songs on my iPod. If I want to listen to The Police in my C63, I've got to crank the COMAND knob for several minutes to get to "P". My last few cars were Audis, and their MMI system would switch to a "fast scroll" after a few seconds to let you effortlessly skip forward to"P".
So my question is: does the W212 use the same COMAND interface? The layout/buttons/screen look VERY similar, so I suspect yes...
Not a deal breaker, just curious.

I haven't been following the comand changes year over year, but I think they made searching easier in the 2012 models than my 2011 even though the hardware looks the same. Each newer version adds some functionality. Check this out if you're interested - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comand...OMAND-APS_NTG4
But even in my 2011, I can skip the list to a certain letter by pressing the corresponding number on the keypad. So for P you would press 7 once. Pressing 7 twice gets you Q and so on. It's like texting with a dial pad on a flip phone. Unfortunately, it only lets to select the first letter to skip to.

On my W212, '14 E350, I can search for artist name, album name or song name and get the song I want pretty quickly. Same thing for me, 550 albums on my 160gb iPod. Searching, however, still requires a few steps.
