2012 E350 4matic Engine Cover
Good morning, all. Well ... after a txt'er rammed my 2006 W211 full speed from behind at a red light, resulting in total loss .... I've just used the insurance $$$ to help take delivery of the nice 2012 E3504matic Sport with less than 50k on the odo. So as painful as it was to miss out on my high mileage badge (I was at 131k with my 2006), I'm looking forward to enjoying the W212 and the new M276 engine. So my first question to you all is this ... Does that front engine cover (to get to the oil filter cartridge) just lift off like the M272 front engine cover? First day in the home garage and really just out of curiousity, I wanted to take a look at things ... but I'm putting quite a bit of lifting force on that front cover ... and it's not budging. Can someone confirm that this thing really does just lift off? I'd hate to break a bracket or clip right off the bat with this thing. Thanks for the assistance ... happy motoring.

Never mind ... finally got up enough nerve to just give it a good yank .. and it does indeed just pop right off. Mind you waaaaay more snug fitting than the M272 front cover ... but pops off nonetheless ... no bolts, brackets, clamps, etc to un-do. Just give it a solid yank up. Now .... to find a new wrench to fit the new oil filter cartridge cover.
