Cold Spot in the Middle of Car
Not sure if this is normal, but my E550 sedan has a super cold spot in the middle of the vehicle: where the cup holders are, all the way to the COMAND knob.
It's -17c in Canada right now, and the car is at a balmy 21c, but the center is ICE COLD.
Is this a design flaw, or could there be a leakage that I need to investigate ASAP?

This is interesting. I live in a cold area as well even though it's 60 something F today. It's usually in the 20s in the winter. I've never noticed this and always felt it was coldest towards the bottom of the car near the gas pedal. Logically maybe there is less padding in the center console area but I've never noticed or thought of it. Hopefully somewhere else can add something of value for you. Good luck.

Probably not the reason to explain your problem. When we have the air conditioner on, I have felt the "floor" of the middle console cold. I surmise it is a result of the HVAC ducts that run beneath the console for the rear center vents. Sometimes the zoning on my car acts up and I notice a temperature difference from the left and right side vents. Have you checked to see the air temperature coming from the front & rear vents?

I checked the front left/right and rear left/right vents and the hand test confirms it's warm when it's warm and cold when it's cold.
I just find it bizarre that the entire center area is ice-cold. I put my iPhone in the cup holder and after 15 minutes of driving, the screen slows down and the battery reacts to the drastic temperature change.
I wish I had a temp gun to show it.

I believe the cabin has a bunch of temperature sensors. Maybe one of them is bad? One of mine went bad. You can only tell if you have the car scanned, doesn't show up as a check engine light, it's an MB specific code. My X431 found it.
