Compatible aftermarket rear camera
Sorry if this has been discussed, I was not successful in finding any info.
Is there an aftermarket camera that will work with our current system which is better then our standard w212 camera?
Thanks in adavance!

I had to get into the trunk lining and cycle the connector for my backup camera. From what I can see, its probably a standard 4 wire camera. What isn't standard would be the connector, so if you plan to replace It with aftermarket, you should be handy with a meter and a soldering iron.

Much appreciated, but I don't think I'll make this a dyi job, was just curious If newer cameras will interact will the older interface. Think I'll call a local custom stereo shop and see if they have ever added a newer cam to the system. Thanks!

I am new to this forum, and was just wondering if you ever had any success hacking in a better camera into the existing wiring ?
Or id anyone has had success hacking/wiring in a better/newer camera
BTW I own a 2014 E350 and the backup camera is one of the worst I have ever used , lack of contrast, can't see very well at night.
I'm wondering if a NEWER camera can just be wired in ?
Any responses are appreciated
