I just went to the dealer today for my 2013 E350 4Matic. I had been getting an intermittent warning that the parking brake was on while driving. The brake itself was not on but the warning would come on at any speed including freeway speeds. The dealer ordered the part and it will be installed next week. What worries me is that this part was replaced 3 years ago for the same reason. Has anyone else had a similar issue?

My parking brake randomly comes on but not while I'm driving. Sometimes when I get in it'll be on even without me putting it on. I read others with a similiar issue to me but I don't recall anyone saying it would happen while moving.

In my case if you try to drive it'll move so I think it's not really engaged but something is stuck or it just thinks the parking brake is on for some odd reason..

Agreed. The actual brake does not come on. When the foot parking brake pedal assembly was changed 3 years ago, the dealer said that it was a faulty spring causing the warning light to come on. Very strange that the same part has gone bad again. Especially, because, I rarely engage the parking brake.

my light comes on every now & then when starting the car. mainly with cold weather.

I find it very easy when getting into the E class to inadvertently touch the E brake and set off the warning when I start the car. It seems if you just touch the E brake it sets off the warning.

Yes, it is easy to hit the parking/E brake. In fact, that is the first thing that the tech at the dealer asked about. But, this is a situation where the light/warning message comes on when the car is moving-maybe ten minutes after getting into the car. And, by the way, I am referring to the center area of the instrument panel where a message comes on. Not the red brake light that is off to the lower right on the panel.

My 2015 E250 will alert the parking brake warning sometimes when it is started, but if you just pull the release lever, it goes away, no big deal. I assume the pedal has been bumped when I get in or out at some point.
