Is the head unit bad?

Went to the Bahamas for a little over a month so I parked the car in the garage. When I left everything worked fine! I come back the other day and take it for a spin and the head unit is acting totally crazy. It cuts on and off every couple of minutes, rear camera doesn't come on when in reverse, the center knob is not working properly, Bluetooth, phone, navigation etc....nothing works properly. I parked the car last night and came back 10 minutes later and the radio was playing. Has anyone had issues like this before? It's a 2012 e550 4 Matic w212.

Is your car's name Christine by any chance? Maybe she feels neglected.

Haven't heard of that happening. Have you tried power cycling comand while the car is running (holding down power button until it restarts) or doing a factory reset under system options?

Maybe your car is jealous of the month in the Bahamas like the rest of us.

When electrical problems like that crop up, it may be more related to issues with the connectors than anything else. Sometimes cycling the connectors (pulling them off and putting back on) a few times will clear the issue up. Corrosion develops on everything and maybe the garage was a bit damp and the car didnt run for the month to get the moisture out. A little corrosion and it drops a bit or the voltage goes too low.

Now the question is, do you feel confident to pop the head unit out and see if cycling the connectors fixes the issue?
