Pre-safe inoperative 'see owners manual'

I was told that the seatbelt sensor needs to be replaced? I hit nothing and was involved in no type of accident.

Did you ever get this fixed? What was the cost? I've just got this message on my car today. On my car - 2013 C63, when you start, it normally tightens the front seat belts. I had noticed recently that the driver mechanism was struggling a bit. This might be the reason for the warning.

Umm,.. was your car dirty? Presafe warning came on on a trip I was on after some distillery visits. it had been raining and the car was filthy. The manual said to clean off the cameras on the car.. which I did and the error went away, never to return. Presafe uses the cameras to check traffic distance etc. My issue was the one in the grill being covered in mud. Give it a shot... free and easy.

Billmiranda, thanks for the suggestion. I got in the car the next day and there was no error message. The driver mechanism is struggling a bit, which I think may have triggered it in the first place.

There's a vendor on here that will rebuild them. I believe if the mechanism is struggling, the belt is dirty. There's some videos on youtube on how to clean the seat belt. Basically a tub of water, wash and dry several sections at a time and once it's clean, it should go back up and stop struggling. Worse case is that you need a new belt. I think that company quoted me $65 to rebuild a seat belt and you can get them used on eBay in the $75-$100 range. OEM was like $1000, even discounted online, still $700.

cetialpha5, thanks for the tip. I'm in Australia, but I'll look into your suggestion over here. I appreciate your help.
