Deployed Headreast

hello, my passenger side headrest is deployed and won't go back. Does anybody know of any technique to help. I've watched many YouTube videos but nothing has worked.

Hi...

it's not the same car, but same mechanism, I've done this several times on my E350 2011 & 2013.

I've done it on mine before and it took a lot of downforce while pressing on the mechanism.

Just curious, what made it deploy?

in my experience with these issue (2 times) I drove over artificial hard bumps and it felt very hard shock from the inside, so I think that these headrests considered it a car accident and deployed those things.

So are you supposed to push down on some spring too like shown in the video?

Yes, with thin tall tool (screwdriver or Allen Key) you can find the hole by pulling back leather on base part of headrest.
