Big Brake Kit

Who has put a Brembo Big Brake Kit on their E550 4matic? My brakes are warped again and just don't want to deal with this issue anymore. Even before the rotors went south I thought the weakest thing about this car were the brakes.
Looking to get some feedback about the Brembo's before I spend the cash to do the upgrade.
Thanks in advance

Get the racing brake upgrade instead.

berti_00 05-04-2017 04:19 PM

i just got a full kit from a w211 e55 amg... for my w212 but cant figure out were to get the brackets.

Very interested in this as well. Mine are heavily warped.. I have been dealing with it, to try to stretch their usability, but they are at the point where a change is the only option...

I have heard that it is very common for the rotors to warp, and this post confirms it...
I'd rather replace with an upgrade, instead of having to replace the oem set when it happens again...

:nix:
Which "racing brake upgrade" do you mean? Are you talking about a specific package from an outside supplier (Brembo) or do you mean the "racing" brakes that are an option on the E63s?

If you are talking about the AMG brakes, chances are you are thinking about the carbon ceramic brakes. While they will fit, the cost is ridiculous. A typical Brembo set runs $2-4k, the carbon ceramics were around 8k last time I checked..

Racingbrake is a sponsor here. It is a company.

Awesome! Thank you for clarifying! I'll check them out

We are working on a brake solution for E550, a two piece rotor + XT910 brake pad bundle or a BBK.

Once the bundle is packaged together, we will list them on our website and make announcement here.

Our light weight two piece rotor and XT910 bundle is proven to be the best performing brake upgrade for Mercedes owners.

Munich77 05-05-2017 11:57 PM

That is promising - does anyone have any first hand experience with better rotors for the E550

i m looking into BBK.
So far, i have no luck finding any BBK for E550 yet.

I am counting on you guys now.

PS. An E63s owner told me my brakes are puny...

The only BBK I found for the E550 4matic was the 6 piston Brembo, although I might try the racingbrake rotor first before shelling out so much cash for a BBK. It should be done within a couple of weeks and I report my thoughts thereafter.

Please do - I have warped rotors again on my E550 and if the racing brake rotors are as good as the other tread says it would actually be cheaper to get them.

What about brackets for w212 e350

RacingBrake 05-08-2017 07:31 PM

For those who are looking just the stock replacement, you may want to following this thread here:

https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post7141350

We have just updated our two piece rotor offer to include XT910 pads as optional adder.

First two orders will get "Free Pads."

I'm confused I called and spoke to you guys last Friday and was told you DO NOT have pads for my car?

RacingBrake 05-08-2017 11:52 PM

Sorry for the confusion. Indeed we don't have the "exact" replacement piece like OEM but we have tested this alternative pad in our shop car, and a couple of other customers' cars accepting this substitute w/o any issue.

This alternative pad was duly clarified after you called.

Please refer to our disclaimer under the item description, with the exception of no wear sensor connector, and our pads do not have the full depth like OE.

try hitting up that company that's in this forum. A few threads Bellow. They sell BBK with brackets. You might be able to get them to sell you the brackets. I was considering just buying. Kit online as well and reaching out them for a mounting solution. Good luck and provide My update if you Re successful.

RacingBrake 05-09-2017 09:59 AM

Just like to clarify, when you guys asking for a BBK we thought you are looking for a BBK built by us with RB calipers w/these features:

1. Affordable in pricing (~$2,150)
2. Kit completed with RB 4 piston heavy duty calipers including 355x32mm 2pc rotors, RB pads and brake line.
3. Easy bolt on installation (fits 18" or larger wheels)
4. Good stopping power and modulation (liner)
5. Very low dust and no squeaking
6. Guarantee of no warping
7. Choice of Black or Red in caliper color

Anything else not listed?

Need to further check to see if this kit can also fit E350

blegthbloo 05-09-2017 11:49 AM

Now that might be something I'd be interested in... if you can get your definition of BBK and still fit the OEM 18" AMG wheels. Would you offer a package like that for the rears as well? (just curious) I think other 550 owners (or maybe just me, idk) are having trouble understanding our options as far as rear pads/rotors go. I've asked you guys in the past, but it's been awhile and I'd have to go back to the PMs and reread.

That's exactly what we would want. Would you be able to make the sensors work as well?

I did but no response bro... They don't seem to respond to the thread or emails. Not sure what their deal is

RacingBrake 05-09-2017 08:16 PM

Since the OE front is a 360x36 (same as C63), and the rotor size is constrained to wheel size, so unless your wheels is 19" we would suggest to keep the front as 360mm w/o oversizing and retain the OE calipers which can also save you some money.

The rear OE is 320x24mm, we suggest to oversize it to 350x26mm (same size as S65 2006 rear) with RB 2 pot fixed piston calipers replacing OE's floating rear calipers.

This combo is estimated to cost around $4,000 for GB special.

Other options such as 380mm or 390mm rotors with 6/4 piston kits can also be made available but will cost more nor will they fit OE size (18") wheels.

The kit can be built and shipped in about 4-6weeks after we have at least 6 people commit to the purchase.

Hi RB guys! is there any movement on this BBK listed above?

RacingBrake 07-18-2017 05:49 PM

Need more people to sign up, we can't justify our resources to develop a kit and sell only 1 or 2 kits.
