Changing oil myself, need to know type of oil and filter number. Do you have to purchase filter from dealer?

Nope. Any decent auto parts store or you can mail order from Amazon or one of the online vendors. Should be 0w-40, I usually get the mobile one synthetic. I order 2 5 quart jugs. I use Mann filters, for mine its the HU 718/5 X for around 10 bucks.

mobil 1 0w40 (depends on where you live) , and walmart has it for $26 bucks for 5 qt, best deal i found.

Mobil 1 has a $12 rebate on a 5 quart jug of oil. I think it's actually $22.88 at Walmart now. Limit is 2 so you can get 2 5 quart jugs. There's also a $15 rebate if you buy it with their filter. I think Advance Auto had it on sale at one point for $30 with the filter. Rebate is good til the end of May. While Walmart isn't listed as a participating retailer, they've always honored it the past few years. Mobil runs this rebate about twice a year. You could also call and they'd tell you they honor it. Only one they specifically exclude is Amazon.
