E-Class Coupe Panoramic roof won't open
Hello everyone.
My cherished Mercedes E class Coupe (E350) year 2010 has developed a fault with the panoramic roof.
It's always been serviced, cleaned and greased and never struggled to open or close.
Yesterday morning, the glass panel failed to open. There is a click sound, but this doesn't drive the motor. I've removed the fuse (for a couple of minutes) in the vain hope to reset the control unit, if there is such a thing.
The most bizarre part of it all, the panoramic shade will not close either. It's fully open (as it always is) but trying to close the shade, it only moves half-an-inch (very smoothly) and then comes to a stop that doesn't sound mechanically obstructive.
Sounds like a sensor that is not making contact, or making a contact too early. Possibly?
Has anyone encountered anything similar? Any suggestions much appreciated.
The one thing I've not tried is disconnecting the battery for a short period, but I've already removed the fuse for a 2 minutes and nothing changed.

I think I'll book it in with the Mercedes specialist.
I just found it strange that both the sun blind and the glass roof have started to malfunction.
As far as I'm concerned, the only thing they both share is the switch.

Sorry for the late reply ;-) .
I was told that the panoramic mechanism features a failsafe mechanism, an automatic shutdown, if for instance it encounters an obstruction to prevent damaging the panoramic mechanism.
The control system had gone into this failsafe for a bizarre reason, and all it took was for the specialist to use the star diagnostic system and reset the error. Nine months have not gone by and it's been perfect.

I have exact the same issue. I tried looking for the error code with iCarsoft MBII tool, but looks like it does not cover the roof module.. Does anybody know of any diagnostics scanner besides star which can reset the error? How much does it usually cost to scan and reset this at the dealer? Thank you in advance.
