Poll: Opinion wanted on exhaust tip finish
I'm going to be pulling off my rear diffuser to install a v-style carbon piece that just arrived today and I finished polishing up.
While I have the factory one off, it's a perfect time to be rid of the chrome on my Meisterschaft exhaust system (e63 model with integrated tips)
I've been debating 3 options:
1.) Plastidip - Leave Matte (as contrast to the gloss diffuser and body color of the car.
2.) Plastidip - finish with glossifier spray
3.) Plastidip - finish with a dark gunmetal ish metallic spray paint over the dip which is far easier to remove than paint on it's own. The color will hopefully be close to the color of my wheels
My thoughts on each:
1.) Matte could potentially look the cheapest and most ghetto
2.) Will show dirt more
3.) Potentially lose contrast to the carbon fiber (not certain this is a terrible thing, but I'm undecided.
What are your thoughts on the subject? Here is a photo of my car. I haven't gone for the "murdered/blacked out" theme intentionally. I've strongly considered refinishing the wheels in a copper/bronze/gold color (powder coat) to make them pop a bit more.

I suppose I could leave the tips Chrome, however it seems out of place with the rest of the trim wrapped.

Hard to tell because I am viewing on my iPhone but what have you done with all the other "chrome" accents on your car. I personally would match what you have done with those.

Chrome trim is vinyl wrapped black. I like the lights and wheels to draw attention as the primary accents and they were getting washed out by the chrome bits...

I'd decided to try the gloss black first... than realized there was an inner diffuser as well and was going to be more involved than anticipated (dropping the exhaust). For the time being they remain chrome hahaha
