2015 E250 - trailer hitch?
Hello:
Interested in installing a trailer hitch in my 2015 E250 Bluetec sedan to carry a bike rack. I've seen several other posts about trailer hitches on W212 wagons. Looks like the easiest option for a trailer hitch is https://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2015_...yle=E350+Sedan. Has anyone with a 2014+ E250 Bluetec installed one of these? None of the sites, including Curts, mention E250. I suspect it might work.

I had hitches on at least 1 of my MB at the time, meaning W123, W210, W211.
Now having new truck I am on the fence on installing it on W212, but from the picture it is pretty easy job.
Hitch-mounted bike racks do wobble a lot, so plan to address that.
E250 has the same trunk E350 does so it should fit without problem .
Still the European hooks that hide with push of the button at steering wheel are on my dream list.
Just like diesel wagon 4M.

Overall it looks very decent as the only part you see is the receiver.

Tech Tip:
For drilling into the bumper beam a rotabroach or carbide drill bit is recommended.
THIS IS REQUIRED, NOT RECOMMENDED. That bumper support was biggest pain to drill through I have done laying on my back.

Carbide bits don't work well on steel.
For drilling heat-treated steel you need industrial-grade bits (different sharpening angle) and start with small one and high speed, then getting big one at lower speed.
There is a video on youtube where guy -using pressing attachment drill truck leaf spring in 45 seconds
