2011 E fan keeps running when car is off. Now it will not start.
Good evening. Having a little odd issue with my 2011 E Class. Has 50,000 Miles. I came home parked my car. About 3 hours later went into the garage and the fan was running and it shut off. It was odd so I went to start it and it clicks, accessories work but the engine will not turn over. Anyone have any help? Very odd the car fan was running with no key in the ignition.

I seem to recall this happening with other owners on here. Not sure where the thread may be. I think it was an issue with the SAM.

Thank you for the replies everyone. So the update. #1 Never let family borrow the car. We had a tremendous amount of rain here in NY and the car has been parked outside. My sister who I let borrow the car because her Honda broke down tells me today she calls me to tell me my E Class is dead and wont start that she thinks when she drove into huge puddle water could of damaged something. So I was blessed enough to get the E jumped at my house and to my shop where they did test and 0 codes or faults. They said it was soaked under the hood and let the car sit in the sun as they dried everything in the engine compartment. Got the engine to start again allowing heat to help dry out the cooling fan that was soaked and water got into the plugs of the fan allowing the fan to malfunction and always run and that is what drained the battery over and over.
