[Windshield Replacement] Please advise

So I finally have some extra money to consider getting my cracked windshield replaced, the only thing is the closest MB authorized dealership is 3 hours away.

When talking to a MB parts guy my windshield #2126703900 and can't ship one to me.

When talking to a auto glass expert, they're saying that they have to know if the windshield has sensors, and all these extras.

My question is, isn't these features on the front rear mirror console? And what was your experience and/or how much did it cost in your area?

Buying parts for new and rare models always sucks, so sometimes you have to suck it and drive to stealer.
For my older W210 I found company in San Francisco area, who come to my place and installed new, US made glass for $199.
The guy was familiar with rain sensor and tested it before leaving.
Good luck on your shopping.

MB and BMW windshields vary in price, depending on electronics/technology. I always get OEM and have had some cost as much as $950. Whatever you decide to go with, make sure you know the pros and cons of each choice.

Good luck!

I just had this done myself. The sensors are indeed in front of the mirror, however they are attached to the glass. I read about oem glass being of superior quality. When my insurance company contacted safelite to replace it, they required oem glass (no increase in deductible). After installed I do have noticeable ripples in the glass on the passenger side as seen from the drivers seat. It's basically a roll of the dice whether the glass be of good quality or not regardless aftermarket or oem.
