2013 E400 Hybrid (W212)
HELP!!! E400 Hybrid Issue

I drove my 2013 E400 to work today with no issues. Came out to go home, and the thing was dead. No lights AT ALL!!
Being a Hybrid, I checked the owners manual before trying to jump it, but there are no special instructions. Same as the E350. Tried jumping and not much better. While the car was hooked to the good car, lights would work, but the car would not start. Let it charge for a few minutes and tried again. Nothing. As soon as the car was detached, there was no lights. DEAD BATTERY. So I went and got a new one. removed the one in the trunk and replaced. Immediately, all lights came on and alarm honked. Disarmed the alarm and attempted to start the car.....nothing. All the dash lights work, AC works, radio work, windows work but the car won't start.
let it sit for a few and tried again, nothing.
When the car IS turned on, the steering works just fine and I can actually shift from P to N, but nothing else.

ANY ideas???

I think you are going to have to get it scanned to find out where the issue lies. Its very odd that it won't shift into drive but I'm sure there are pending codes right now that call out specifically what is wrong.

Was the car CPO? Do you have a warranty on it? Otherwise I would find a good indy shop at least if you need anything repaired.

For future reference search “hybrid” here https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...212-sedan.html vehicle has two batteries 12V/95AH (part 0019828208) + starter generator auxiliary battery (0009829308) that may also need replacement see attached bulletin covered under warranty.
