P0562 - Error Code - Mercedes E220 W212 Saloon
Just looking into this, it seems I have a permanent DTC of PP0562 related to the transmission control module (VGS4NAG2). Does anyone know the procedure for clearing this fault code?
I'd like to start fresh with diagnosing an intermittent fault I am seeing on my W212 E-Class. Previously I had a code of P0620 which is now gone.
I took the car for a drive and all seems well. No other codes fired apart from the permanent PP0562.
Also, I highly recommend the Carly app for detailed diagnostics. It was amazing the amount of extra information it provided.
Right down to one of my heated seats malfunctioning and records of when bulbs were blown or replaced.
It even told me about the rear trunk bulb that was not working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

so can a factory diagnostic tool clear permanent fault codes? I was researching and found that I need to drive the car a number of times it seems. But if a factory tool can do this I might go down this route.

Have you considered that you may actually have a problem? Just because it's imperceptible to you doesn't mean there isn't an issue. You may very well be catching something at the outset. Clearing codes isn't always a great idea.

Im assuming that with the permanent DTC this is one that is stored, I'm not seeing any active codes at present and would prefer to have the permanent code cleared to start fresh with diagnosing.
This problem has happened 3 times now and 3 specialists have not been able to identify it. Hence why at this stage I don't want to keep throwing money at garages who just replace parts for the sake of it. I've had two alternators and a new battery and since discovered that neither of these were necessary.
