2015 E350 TPMS QUESTIONS

I just pick up a 2015 E350 with 18,000 miles. The Pirelli tires are in bad shape. The rubber are all dried up and cracks all over and it worn down to about 50%.

Anyway, I need to replace them. My questions is do I need to keep the TPMS at their original corner or can it be moved around (rotate)? How does the car know which sensors is where after you rotate your tires? The display show the actual pressure for each corner and I know you can rest the values but I'm confused what happen if you rotate your tires and the display show the wrong corner value.

TIA!

Each sensor communicates with control unit, no need to reinstall at original location. Restart system afterward, see attachment.

Unlike the dummy TPMS on most car nowadays that only light up on your dash when the pressure is low and you go and find out which tire need air. MB TPMS actually show the value of each corner. That why I'm little confused if you rotate your tires the value will be mixed up.

Anyway, Getting new Michelin tires put on today. Don't need to be concern about sensors getting mixed up.

thank you!

Yes, no worries. Move your tires wherever you want to.

I believe there is a receiver in each wheel well and the sensor only transmits a short distance so it can only be picked up by the receiver in the wheel well it's installed in.

Most tire shops will only do 1 tire at a time and mount it back where it was taken off. But if it does get moved (i.e. rotated) it should still work.

Sensor @ each wheel (100 in diagram), one control unit (10).
