Transfer Case / Rear Crankshaft Seal Leak

Hi...

My 2010 E class has 72000 mi on it and this was a main problem found on my B service.

They also said this last year, and I went to a local mechanic and he said things looked "OK, it might be weeping a bit, but nothing major"

I was quoted $4500 to do both repairs.

Question is, why is this happening at 72000? My Lexus GX has 150000 on it and this is not an issue. Secondly, how bad of an issue is this if it is not hemorraging fluid?

Thanks!

$4,500 for Loctite? That's just complete BS.

Dear Mercedes Benz,

Thank You!!

Sincerely,

Lexus.
