Faulty Engine oil Dip Stick ? (or is it me ?)
Newbie to forums but I own 3 MB's. 2011 SLK 300, 2014 GLK 350 and a 2014 E350. So I'm checking the oil level on my E350. Car has been sitting idle (off) for >6hrs. Push in the dipstick, pull it out and THERE IS NO OIL on the dipstick! Push the stick back in, pull it out, and the oil level now shows close to MAX !!!!! This happens also on the 350 GLK. Has been happening since I got both....... What am I missing ????? I've been "winding my butt and scratching my watch for a couple years..........

Normal. I don't know the specific reason why other than I think that plastic indicator fits into a narrower space that seems to "drain".
First time is zero indicator, oil level then accesses the tube for your second try reading. Once you get used to it no big deal.
