C vs S Mode

I have a Benz E50, 2007, I generally drive in C Mode, but for some reason, I had it in S Mode for the past two days. Today, as I was driving, I felt a tug and crackling sound. I pulled over and turned the car off. I changed to C Mode and the car is running smooth again. I have a 30 Day Warranty for Transmission. Is this a transmission problem. My warranty ends this weekend. PLEASE HELP

Maybe it was a hard shift. See if it happens again. I would put the tranny though its paces while under warranty.

Is your car a 4Matic? Was the noise happening at slow speed, like parking. This is a known issue with the transfer case fluid if it is a 4Matic car. My '04 E500 4Matic had an issue with the transfer case that was solved with the proper new replacement fluid. Maybe post over on the W211 section of the forum for better help as well. This section is all W212 cars.

S-mode vehicle always starts off in 1st gear, C 2nd gear. Pull fault codes using MB DAS (diagnostics). BTW should be posting here: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w211-20/
