Should be covered under warranty, have dealer check it.

So the screen is just black and doesn't respond to any controls? If no longer under warranty, you could try a hard reset on it by holding in the comand power button (inside volume ring) continuously until it cuts the power to the unit and then release the button so it can reboot. I have to hold mine in for at least 20 seconds. In your case, I would count to at least 30 just to be sure and then release. If that didn't work, then I would check fuses, pull battery, etc.
