Removed Windshield water tank due to a leak. Lost most radiator fluid!

Had the bumper, etc. off to replace cracked headlight unit -- deer collision -- and decided it was a good time to remove the also damaged, leaking windshield water tank. Before the end of the driveway, engine running, got a "Check Coolant..." warning & found it has lost most of its fluid! Severe surprise! I assume this is the winter heating arrangement. Anyone advise me on which hoses -- seems to be the two short ones near the bottom - and if I can simply patch them into each other with 1/4" pipe section and hose clamps so the 2011 E350 Diesel can be drive until tank replacement? Thank you.

Can’t help you identify the hoses, but your plan to temporarily splice the coolant hoses together will be fine.
