If I remember correctly, there is free Navi update per car within the 3rd year of ownership. I did asked the sale about it before I took my car home. He told me to talk with service advisor next time I'm doing the service. This is what I found after a little search.
Multi-Year Update Program (United States Only)
Starting with the 2015 model year, Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with the COMAND navigation system receive three years of complementary dealer-installed map updates. The combined retail price of the map updates alone is $750, making the Multi-Year Update Program the ultimate in value and convenience.

My map is from 2012. t's accurate for 98% of what I need. The other 2% - I rely on Waze. The only times my 2012 map didn't help was when I went to a hotel n North Carolina and a strip mall, both built after 2012. And these days when I cross the Governor Mario M. Cuomo bridge, navi says I'm in the Hudson river. That's OK because I know better.
