10.25 inch android headunit installed

Not sure what you mean it has no interaction. Read the description, it clearly does. And I'm not sure how you claim it's a "very old screen" with no justification, as it has a newer version of android. The screens are both the same size, 10.25 inch, I'd wager the brackets are usable for this one as well.

Chris, is there an aftermarket 360 camera setup that you sell or recommend with the upcoming screen? Also, will the new screen have the ability to use a SIM for LTE capability?

I have the "old" unit (for some months now) , which as such has several fundamental flaws (would need a separate thread on that), and I do wonder this new "soon to come under testing" unit will have the same connections as the old one thus eliminating the need to rerun the complete physical installation all over again?

Mirroring custom install
His Chris, I am interested in using this 10.25 screen only as mirroring for an older m.o.s.t. system as part of a custom install. Can it be setup as just a mirroring display only (audio and video mirroring). The audio must have output from the screen/unit for connecting to the car OEM audio.. which I will work out ( audio-HK interface module?)

There are, at least, 7 areas to cover here waking down this route ;
- GPS
- Display (coating)
- UX (user experience)
- SW
- Modem
- Build Quality
- Support
- GPS Reception (if any)
- Putting the GSP antenna behind the device, below the dashboard gives no reception at all. I mean it is a Mercedes we are talking about here i.e. you don’t want fat cable hanging out from you device and a big fat antenna on your dashboard ?
- Putting the antenna below the windshield on the dashboard gives 5-7 meters precision when it works (50%-50, Working vs. Not working).
- Time to first fix can be a s long as 30 minutes !!!!
- Putting the antenna below the rear-view mirror is major installation procedure .This is a job for a pro i.e. routing that GPS cable to the latter position. Still best case you will have 5 meter precision.
- Have you seen in any of the online videos addressing the GPS or it installation procedure/placement ? No, you have not and does that not make you wonder why that is ?
- There is, however, a fairly easy fix for this so you can hide the antenna below the dashboard (totally obfuscated) with up to 2 meter precision (minimum 4 meters). I’m not sharing this info however while I do ask the ones selling the device to tell us all how you achieve 2 meters precision and thus being in par with the original Mercedes GPS on a W212.

Strange "glitches" I have to say.
1. Antenna should never be "hidden". I have mine at the rearview mirror and on the ML I have it actually mounted on the back of the diisplay and it works 100%. Easy install and no problem at all. How can you say this is hard? Its super easy to route that cable. No videos needed for that easy install. Almost sounds like you have a bad antenna.
2 Display (coating) Means??
3 Yes? Whats hard here? I find it super easy to use.
4 Yes? I provide it for free to my customers.
5 Modem??
6 Yes. Its superb. As good as an iPad in my experience.
7 My support is 100% I think..

I do see that you are happy with your "installations" (I'm sorry but a Mercedes shouldn't have a bulky aftermarket GPS antenna visible is my take) thus then I guess other people in the forum can tell us about their experience in terms of GSP reception quality?
Still, no way you have 2 meters precision i.e. what does 100% mean ? Please use the pre-installed app in the unit and let us all know what 100% really translates to in terms of "meters" ?
Next Topic: "Display coating". This display is lacking Anti-reflective (AR) coating thus making it very hard to see what is being depicted on the screen when there is sunlight.

Is using a GPS splitter to be able to use the OEM antenna for both an option? Are they FAKRA connections on both?
Chris, any view on timescales for the new Android 7.1 2Gb units? Does the latest version also fix the no mph (just kph) readouts?
Also interested in understanding the costs when it comes to importing into the UK from you. Which price option on your website do you choose (inc VAT, exc VAT) and does that mean there is still UK VAT, import duties etc to pay. If anyone in the UK has done this it would be useful to understand.
