If anyone is looking to have these units professionally installed in the Orlando, Florida area. I will be flying down next week. I'll post dates if needed. I'll stay longer depending on how many ppl needs an install. Remote starts can be installed also.

Which screws are used to secure the screen in place? I used the long silver screws to attach the face plate. I also received 4 small stainless screws (too small and not sure what they are for) and 4 black screws (also seem to be too small). Which screws am I supposed to use? What size are they? Also the windshield of the coupe is so aggressively swooped that I can't even see the holes unless I look through the windshield. Good grief!
ETA: Got it. Swapped the OEM screws for the bracket and used the silver Philips (bigger ones) to screw down the screen. Much less wobbly now.

Been following along here, but I have a W166. I purchased this unit:
https://www.amazon.com/Android-Display-Navigation-Bluetooth-2012-2015/dp/B07PBT7BLW/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=w166+android&qid=1561142466&s=gateway&sr=8-1
(from China, admittedly), and have a bit of a weird one.Got everything installed according to some other posts, and the not-so-great instructions included in the unit. I activated the "Aux Input" thingy, but DID NOT connect the head unit to the AMI port in my center console. However, Bluetooth streaming from my phone to the Android Unit was working just fine.
Then I turned the truck off, and back on, no more Audio. On the COMAND side, AUX is selected (it was working thru the video input before), and for the life of me, including a factory reset, I can't get the Android side of the unit to produce audio. EXCEPT via phone calls.
I hooked up the AUX cable to the AMI port to test it, and it works, but it was working before WITHOUT the aux to AMI port cable.
I don't mind doing the AMI port, and running that cable, but it was working before so I'm losing my mind . And also the phone quality is terrible. I think I'll stick to making calls on the COMAND side of the unit and using the MB OEM mic. I don't know if other units (like CKM's) actually use the OEM equipment for making/receiving calls, but initiating them from the Android side is pretty poor quality.
Thanks in advance.

I have a different model, but I do the same thing. I keep my phone blueoothed to the MB oem phone system for calls and then hotspot to the stereo to stream music/navagation. Even when I am on the aftermarket system and a call comes in, it rings through and I can answer it and it will talk on oem. Dialing out requires me to go out to oem phone screen though.

Android auto
How do you put Android auto on the unit? The one on play store doesn't use your phone, it's like a standalone version. I'd like have it connect to my phone like a traditional headunit, since the connection is way better and I won't need a sim
edit: the gps antenna it comes with is complete garbage, it says im about 4 miles away from where i really am. i also need the dongle for both carplay and android auto.

I don't know if I like that. But nice to see the Dashboard app back. I don't have that on the android 8.1 unit I bought -- developer claims it doesn't work in 8, only in 7 (for now.).

There is no Android 8.1 in reality, its still the same version of Android with the buildprop updated further than it was. At least when I questioned the manufacturers on whether it was true 8.1 they confirmed it wasn't.
