Lowering '14 E550 Sedan
I'm to the E class world after selling my 2014 C63 507. The car was an absolute hoot to drive but the larger E fits my family needs better, and I'm really happy how well-rounded this car is!
I've searched on the web as well as in this forum and still have a few questions around lowering a non-airmatic 550 sedan. It seems I've seen a couple of members that have used coupe springs on their sedan, so my question is are the spring rates good for the sedan? Also, are there any other options for this car that I haven't seen other than Vogtland, as the review on this spring brand aren't the greatest.
Future plans will probably be minimal since I have a CPO warranty and don't want to lose the drivetrain portion by tuning the car. I have swapped out the good emblem for a black OEM version, tinted the windows and am currently leaning towards ordering the Weistec filters to help her breath a little better.
Thanks for the lowering knowlege.
As i know Vogtland is solid for E class, but i have also seen some people on KW.
And I thought Weistec filters is same as BMC or K&F ?

Are you lowered with airmatic, or do you have springs? My knowledge of Vogtland is that I saw in a few boards that they had a 3 star review, mainly for harshness. I've lowered all of my cars for the better wheel to fender gap and really would like to tighten this one up as well, but don't want to completely ruin the supple ride. I'm fine with, and actually prefer a firmer ride as long as the it's balanced ride quality.
As far as the air filters I was leaning towards Weistec for the dry filter over the oiled filter. I'd rather avoid any MAF sensor issues.
Thanks again and Happy New Year to all.
I went with 3rd party products on the whole exhaust from turbo back to mufflers.
And i think Yr 14 or up should fit just fine.
If its older than yr 14, i think an experienced muffler shop can modify it easily.
