why, have you had your oil tested at 6k and determined that its lubricity has broken down ? these engines hold like 8 quarts of oil, and the fully synthetic oil Mercedes specifies has a long service life.
factory says 10K miles or every year, whichever comes first.

They hold 9, and 10k miles is far too long, on tests done by M157 and M278 owners.
It's MB first mass produced twin turbo V8, and they were being too optimistic.

I change mine every 5000 miles. I used to change every 3000 miles with my past U.S. made cars with 5 qt oil volume but allowed it to go to 5000 miles since the oil capacity at 9 qt calculates that based on5 qt and 3000 miles.
Cheapest insurance for your engine is to change oil often, far earlier than the manufacturer recommends.

Motul 5/40 every 5-6k. when i first bought my E. it consumed oil cant remember how muvh per 1k miles. once i change to motul it stopped. and after see how many people have issues with the 6.2 AMG motor and Mobil 1 im not touching Mobil 1 again.
