Anti-Theft Alarm Light Not working... Service Bulletin?

On my previous MB, the anti-theft alarm light would flash periodically when the system is armed. On my 2016 E-class, it's supposed to be located below the road-side Hazard triangle in the face of the dark panel, to the left of the yellow passenger airbag sign.

Does your light blink periodically when armed?

I've tested and the alarm works fine, but the LED light does not flash periodically. There is crinkling in the finish of the panel right where the light is, which indicates to me the light is burned-out and when it overheated, it marred (crinkled) the panel finish. Has anyone else had this issue, and is there a Bulletin about it?
