Model End Recommendation for High Beam Replacement, Please...

I've read several threads on headlight replacements, but they concern the early W212 years when HID upgrades were all that. I'm asking for recommendations for my end-of-model-run 2016 W212...

I am NOT interesting in upgrading to the optional Intelligent light package. I have the standard LED low beam headlights (code 632) and frankly, they are GREAT. Best lighting yet on any car I've owned and I don't see a real need for anything better...

But the High beams with their yellow hue do not match the Lows. I seldom drive at night, and seldom use the high beams when I do. So for me, it's strictly an appearance issue.

I looked on the Sylvania and Phillips websites, but the variety of bulb options they had in 2011 are not available for my 2016, or I'm not using the sites correctly.

What are the current recommendations for replacing the High Beam bulbs with good functional H7 (?) bulds, either LED or upgraded standard types that have a white beam matching the Low beams? Links appreciated, please...

Come on guys... I'm late to the party in buying my 2016 E350 just 2 months ago. So I'm certainly not the first person to ask this question two years ago.

I don’t think there is a good answer to this question, I’ve never found it anyway and I have been looking since 2014. I agree with you the led low beams are excellent but the halogen high beams are a big disappointment in a high end luxury car. I made the mistake of believing the sales person when he said I didn’t need the lighting package with the led lights and I didn’t drive the car at night.before buying it.

Has anyone tried the Phillips Diamond Vision (Halogen) replacement bulbs?

Amazon Amazon

I replaced the 3200K Halogen Low Beams on my first MB with a similar 5000K 80Watt upgrade many years ago and those provided the white light desired (and a bit more range, too). And these Philips Diamond Vision are standard 55 Watt, too. So I wonder if anyone has tried these?

Has anyone tried the Philips H7 bulbs shown in the previous post? I'm looking for white light but not blue.

Do all cars with H7s use the same connectors? The reviews say that they are in use on several 2014 GLKs

As mentioned, I installed Philips in my older MB 17 years ago, and they are still working. So, I'm very impressed with the brand.

Thanks for all the help, everyone.

I've bought a set of these Philips DiamondVision bulbs from Amazon. They will be delivered Monday. I hope to install them and take a few pictures to post by the end of the week.

OK Amazon Prime delivers a day early. An employee must live in my area...

I like to take these type of pics during daylight, so you can see like-for-like, side-by-side comparisons with the outboard LEDs without all the flare at night.

I am very pleased with the white look of these. And although the pics may not show it, I think they are brighter (in person) than the LEDs, too. Pulling into the dark garage, I can tell the positioning of the High Beam in the housing will add plenty of fill light to complement the Low Beams, which I already like a lot.

Here is a picture from higher above the bumper...

Here is a lower angle picture more in line with the practical light throw...

So, no more yellow high beams, and I think I can recommend these Philips DiamondVision replacements. If these hold up like the Philips in the other, much older Benz , I will be very pleased.

Good luck with the new bulbs. It was a bear of a job working on a 2010 to replace the low beams, hopefully they made some improvements in the process. One thing to keep in mind though, is that the brighter and whiter lights generally come with shorter lifespans since they get that color by burning hotter. But if you dont use them all that much anyway, it may not be an issue at all.

Changing the H7 High Beams is so easy that it is shown in the Owner's Manual (pg124). Once I figured out how the bulb fit in the harness, changing both took less than 10 minutes,
