Backup Camera too low?
Finally took delivery of my W218 CLS550. It is great but the rear view camera sucks like no other. I can barely see anything and mostly see the rear bumper... thoughts
There's no direct fitment options that would be plug and play. I searched far and wide. I kept my factory camera in place, and I have a backup camera with the monitor over the rear view mirror. If I hadn't have already installed a front and back camera system, I would have gone for this setup which is better than anything else I've seen as an aftermarket solution.

Ahhh.
I was thinking of getting this kit... bit pricey but adds guidelines too

I have seen that, and it is a bit pricey for what you get. With the one I recommend, you get the grid lines, as well as 1080p front camera and 720p rear. The reason I like a two camera setup is that you can use the aftermarket to back out of a space, or navigate into a parking/garage space, and when you need to check how close you are to a wall/curb/object, you simply look down at the factory camera. Also, there is an added bonus of having a wider rear view mirror for better visibility in normal driving.
