Can someoine steer me in the right direction? Rear camera install
.So I am installing a reverse camera as my 2011 e550 coupe did not include one. Does anyone know which socket I am supposed to plug the new camera into? I tried the double green but dont seem to be getting anything. Any help wou;d be greatly appreciated.
I have a 2011 E550 4Matic with radar. My dealer advises that this model is not compatible with a backup camera as I hoped that I could plug and play.
It may be different if you don’t have radar. Radar is not very helpful in parking lots because of the number of false warnings.
If you learn otherwise, I would be pleased to hear!
I did a DIY rear camera install on my 2011 E350 W212, no parking sensors though.
Here is a picture with my head unit pulled out. If I recall, my green connector plug-in fit on the right side of my HU when removed like this. It looks like something is already plugged there on yours currently. Maybe a dumb question, but have you tried the green plug in on both sides for results?
I know mine was a PITA to fit in, but once it was in all was good. I also followed the instructions on other threads to activate the backup camera in the engineering mode and worked like a charm.
new to this so I’m excited to have a 2011 E350 BASE. Was wondering though… Is it possible to add a rear view camera using the same original radio to it. Is there an option? Any little feedback will help.
Thanks!

Can anyone explain to me why I don't have the guide lines visible on my 2013 E350? There MUST be something wrong in the engineering menu but I don't know what it could be because they seem pretty cryptic. There is varying information on the Internet as to whether it IS or IS NOT possible to do this including some legal reasons involving somebody who used it and hit something. my 2016 has them, both the bendy yellow ones that track the steering and the straight white ones that are handy for lining up with a curb when you're parallel parking.
