Speakers Melting 2014 E350
I just had the same speaker melting issue with my ( 2014 - E350) , issue: The rear factory sub rear (the larger midrange speaker) started melting with white smoke coming out from the speaker while driving.. then I started smelling the burning wire smell....... ….., I stopped the car & opened all windows and turned off the engine to get the smoke and burning smell out and when I felt the speaker it was too hot for 15 minutes ... now when I am driving my car the speaker is making popping / buzzing sounds and speaker gets hot even when the radio is powered off. I schedule a service appointment with Mercedes-Benz of Plano next day .. the dealer found the issue and found the driver side speaker also INOP and now the cost is $1800 to fix the speaker and I had to reach out to MB USA but they only offered to pay 10% of the cost ... I am so upset and not happy , this is should be covered by MB ... luxury manufacture car ... since it is not a user issue... .... this should be happening from using the speakers in 2014 ...Bad customer care
