MPG- trip computer vs fuel refill
I drove 330 highway miles between refueling today. The trip computer’s MPG readout was within .1 mpg as compared to mileage/fuel used. So- for anyone wondering if the trip computer’s mpg readout is accurate- at least for highway driving- yes it is! And in case anyone is curious, the trip computer was low by .1 mpg.

I calculated mpg with every tank and compare to car calculation - in 4 years and 120 fill-ups, I think the computer came in below my calculation one time. The car mpg is typically 0.5-1.5 mpg too high compared to my own calculation. I do find that highway trips do tend to be closer to the calculated mpg, but not always.

Single fill calculation brings huge margin error. I use fuely for keeping the records and do make notes about car computer readings.
So on average MB computers come with 3% errors. Make it 1.5 mpg difference on 40 mpg car.
The W212 can make 5% error on long distance cruising, when it comes pretty accurate in city driving.
Than I think W211 section had people posting that with SD you can calibrate the computer.
