storage box passenger side seat

Wife has been complaining about the storage box in the front under the passenger seat. She says it opens up all the time when she sits down on the seat. I told her to just close it but she says it is annoying and I should fix it. Any suggestions would be helpful except for getting rid of the wife. Thanks ahead of time.

Storage box only responds to something/someone kicking the latch. Just sayin... I think front passengers cross their legs as a reflex cause they can't drive.

On the 1:10,000 chance the latch is broken, put a bottled water in the box. Its weight will pull the door closed. Or velcro it -- or some compact, heavy weight -- to the back edge of the box.

Yeah, no ideas here, but I have people constantly knocking it open as well. I feel your pain.

hmm... check the retaining rail / bracket to see if they might be worn... also check the latch on the actual storage box itself to see if worn... replace as needed...

might have already tried this, but does the box open by simply pulling on the box (not the latch, as this would be standard operation) but pull on the box without operating the latch to see if the storage box pulls open without operating the latch, if it does, this would indicate either the retaining rail or latch is worn and needs replacing... if it doesn't, and seems to hold tight and solid unless the latch is operated, this might indicate the wife being the issue... ;-)
