Hello all, I wanted to introduce everyone to my 2012 E550 Wagon. In the past ive come from E90post (BMW 3 series forum)
Ive acquired this car from my Uncle 2 years ago with 40,000km on the clock, which had been owned new by him.
From my knowledge I know that the E550 Wagons are extremely rare and were available only in Japan, but what makes this W212 extra rare is the fact that this is the 2012 model the introduction of the turbo V8, updated steering wheel and color speedo.
Interesting fact about the Turbo 550 is that they were only available in Left Hand Drive in a country that drives predominantly right.
Anyways specs: 4.7l Twin Turbo V8
Michelin Pilot Sport 4
Fully loaded for a 2012. AMG package, Airmatic, Distronic Plus, Lane Assist, Harmon Kardon audio, Panoramic Sunroof even a LCD screen in the back.
White on Saddle brown/yellow color, I call it honey walnut shrimp color since I can never get the name of the factory color. (Possibly Designo)
A story regarding the interior: In 2012 my uncle traded in his 2009 black NA V8 W212 with a 2012 Turbo blue efficiency E550 which was white with true saddle brown. Unfortunately 2 months later some idiot ran a stop sign in our neighborhood and totaled the car. As a result he got this current car, which at the time had black interior, but due to the love of brown he ordered the current seats which were refitted into the car. (No Joke) Due to this I thought he owned 3 White W212's but in reality he swapped the seats.
This car has magnificent smooth power and low end torque. The power and refinement of the engine feels like it mimics a V12. Car is the ultimate sleeper, you cannot tell the difference between a E250 wagon and mine with AMG package without looking at the badge. The wheels are the same as well as exhaust tips.
Anyways here are some pics and POV video, I hope you guys enjoy!
Thank you all!!
Wagons are extremely popular in Japan when it comes to German cars, due to demand of practicality as well as golf bags (W212 wagon can fit the most out of all wagons, 5 bags).
the 550 is the ultimate sleeper!!
thank you!
The 550 wagon was sold between 2009 - 2012. Turbo model was only available in 2012, which they added a new steering wheel that was only used in 2012. No facelift 550 wagons unfortunately..
