Just wanted to say hi and introduce the new ride. Been lurking since before purchasing the car 3 months ago. It is my wife’s daily and my weekend excitement. Great fun to drive, I think most people think is an old lady car around here. We’re experiencing an electrical issue that I hope to fix soon, otherwise the car is great. If anyone has some technical experience with this model specifically electrical systems it would be great to get some advice!! I’ll post up some better pictures after a washing and when there is better lighting. Are they all governed at 130?
Congrats! The TTv8 in these cars is a beast! And yes all them are governed at 132 lmao, get a tune if you want it to be ungoverned, and you'll get a buttload more power out of it too!
Thanks for the comments, it does seem like there isn’t to many of them out there. Definitely a quick car! We had an Audi B6 S4 that I thought was quick till I drove this. The car is pretty loaded, it does have the LED lighting. I love how the auto high beam works! So many cool features. The radio even blows me away, we get so many stations that our other vehicles do not get. Now if I’m feeling like a massage I just go out to the garage, that’s crazy! The car has around 44,000 miles now, it’s our first Mercedes. Hadn’t really ever considered one before, I’m glad we finally did. So one day it tells us to check the reverse lights, they’re not working. I go to open the trunk, it won’t open. It will shut with button on the inside of the trunk lid but none of the buttons to open will work. The light on the inside works. I have found that the previous model had problems with wire breaking on the trunk lid arms. I assume this is what’s going on but wanted to dig deeper to see if anyone else has had similar problems before I pull all of the carpet out. The large bundle of wires is on the passenger side wheee it seems it was on the drivers side on the previous generation. Anyway, I’ll end this long post here. Thanks for your time!
Congrats! I drive a 2012 E550, but am envious of your 2014. As noted by @cetialpha5, you have the one-year only face-lifted W212 E550. If mine went pear-shaped today, a 2014 E550 would be at the top of my list (or a Nissan Leaf SL w/ProPilot, seriously, but I digress).
The 2014's facelifted interior is an improvement and there's a couple of things that I really dig: (1) "righting" the positions of the turn signal and cruise stalk (2) ditching the giant analog clock in the instrument panel and (3) the horizontal line of chrome buttons above the radio and below the HVAC vents.
As for the facelifted exterior, I really like the (1) subtly better looking wheels, (2) re-styled lower rear bumper / exhaust tips and (3) elimination of the "pontoon" rear fender theme.
I’m pretty sure I should have reverse lights in my fender lighting assembly, I have none. Break and turn work but no reverse. None of them work on the lid. I can’t find a frayed or broken harness. Anyone have any ideas? Is that bottom clear a reverse light or is it only the trunk lid lights for reverse?
So my Indy mechanic says it needs to go to Mercedes. Code says an open or short circuit but all of the wire ohm out fine. He thinks a reprogram or replace the Sam module, hopefully programming is all it takes!!

Find an indy with scan tools. Plenty exist and will save you a boatload.
