I have searched all over youtube and checked the WIS as well but I could only find instructions for the removal of the control *** on pre-facelift models.
Could anyone tell me how the remove the control *** on the face-lift w212?
I attached a picture on the *** in my car.

May we ask why you want to remove the knob?

Thanks konigstiger.
I want to remove the knob and the panel with it, and the ashtray housing, to route the AUX cable from my new 10.25" Android screen to the AUX port in the armrest for a cleaner installation.

I've had my center console (facelift 2016) apart twice now to do similar work, and had no need to remove the actual knob at all. The knob and surrounding wood trim can be removed as a single unit.

Try these videos...

Yeah, I realized it, thanks.

Is your 2016 a W212 or W213?
If it's a W212, how did you guys tuck all the cables behind the COMAND?
I have wrestled with it for many hours without success.

Mine is a W212. I have not hade the pleasure of fishing any wires behind the upper center stack, sorry
