2014 E350 Wagon
2014 E350 already asking for transmission service at 39k?

Hi all, it's a 2014 E350 wagon with 39,000 miles on it. According to Assyst Plus, it needs a B7 service in 8500 miles. I went into the diagnostic menu and see Service 20 is part of this, aka the transmission fluid change. Isn't it a little early? Doesn't this come at 70,000/7 years?

Thanks

7G transmissions went via evolution process, so check your manual for actuall recommendations.
My 2008 had recommendation for single service at 70k and then for life.
In later models the transmission got modified with fine filter and depends on the engine you have 70k intervals, still 1st service could be at 40k.
When my 2008 transmission was running perfectly on single service till 180k when I serviced it again, the service is cheap comparing to replacement, so cheap insurance it is.

Starting in 2012, the tranny service interval for the E350 is at 70K miles. The printed maintenance schedule states this, but unfortunately some printed schedules are generic and includes other E series engines so you have to know your engine code, thus the confusion. I even had a MB service advisor insist it needed to be done on my 2012 E350 according to the older E350 engine schedule because he did not bother to apply the correct engine code.

'13 E350 . M276
I just checked my Maintenance Booklet and it shows below message at 70K and 140K intervals.

"Automatic transmission – oil and filter
change, except for E 400 HYBRID
(engine 152, 271, 276, 278, 279, 651)"
