COMAND unit needs replacement, ELW?
I have my surround view cameras go blank intermittently and the parking sensors don't detect the obstacles sometimes. Took it to an SA and he says the COMAND module needs to replaced.
However, the Collision Center people want to go through the Insurance first, since there might be a small related to the front bumper accident recently (Which he mentioned it would be a slight chance they might pay for it).
In case the Insurance rejects, will it be covered under ELW?
Is there any chance they could upgrade my 2014 COMAND (probably 4.5 or 4.7) with something like NTG 5.1 or later to accommodate Apple CarPlay?

If it goes through your insurance that will most likely pay for the damages on your bumper, can can get your shop to quote the insurance with the Nav. you want and see what they say, the worst case scenario is you pay the difference between the 2.
Yes your CPO warranty will cover the Nav., but not the upgrade, it’s all through you VIN and what Nav the car was built with.

Did they diagnose the problem as only the COMAND HU and nothing else? Basically I'm wondering if any of the other components you were having issues with (cameras, sensors) were also faulty. Hoping if this issue hits me I can simply swap the HU and be done with it.
