W220 CDI Airmatic trouble
Hi
I'm having trouble with my brothers E220 CDI 2012.
The car got rear air springs only.
I recently changed the rear air springs after I found out that they leaked.
2 days after this operation my brother called and said the car sat low again.
I found that the 60A fuse for the air compressor had burned. He didn't want to pay for a new SAM unit so I now run the power directly from the battery via a fuse.
When I start the car now the dashboard says:
"Vehicle Rising Please Wait A Moment"
Problem is that I can't hear the compressor starting.
I can start the compressor with my X431 easydiag and it sounds healthy.
Any ideas where to look next?

Isn't the purpose of the SAM to control the operation of many functions including the Airmatic compressor? Routing around the SAM effectively negates this control function, does it not?

That I am uncertain of.
I noticed the fuse that had blown was connected to a terminal named KL30. This made me believe that this connection was "hot" and that I could take the voltage directly from the battery.
I wonder what could have made that fuse go?
From what I understand the compressor has safety functions that doesn't allow it to run hot.
Btw..I think it sucks that Mercedes cannot supply spare fuses for the SAM
