2012 E350 keyless go won’t turn off!!!!
i bought a fully optioned 2012 E350 today that has keyless go. Love the car BUT got it home and pushed the stop button and NOTHING! Car wouldn’t shut off. Tried pushing the button several times and nothing.
I called MBUSA, they were a BIG help (said dripping in sarcasm). “I’m sorry sir but there is no override for keyless go. You’ll have to call roadside assistance and have the car towed in to the dealer while it’s running”. I said “you’ve got to be joking” and “what if someone drives it off????” She didn’t know but I hung up.
I went and bought a new a new battery for the main key, still wouldn’t turn off. I finally pried the button off and put the smart key in and turned it but nothing. I got frustrated and turned the steering wheel from lock to lock and then turned the key and the car shut off.
Does this make make any sense to anyone??
HELP PLEASE! I haven’t even had the car 24 hours yet!!

You did what I would've.. take out the "button", insert the key, turn off, then back on and off again (if the first time didn't work... which makes sense that it wouldn't). As for the button not working when you turn it off, if you just bought it I would take it to the dealership and ask them to diagnose it.

Where did you get this car? I assume since you called MB direct, it was not an MB dealer? I would drop this car in a hurry and return it from whence it came.

i did buy a warranty with it so I assume it will be covered. The reason I called MB direct was it was long after the dealer closed for the day.

Yes. I wouldn’t want anything to do with it. Plenty of other good cars out there,

As long as you have a warranty with it, let the dealer "deal" with it. Take it in and let them fix it.
