E350 Rear Rotors & Pads Recommendation

New to me 2011 E350 4Matic wagon with sport package and rear pads are 4-3 mm, vehicle has 65k miles and plan on replacing rear rotors and pads. I've had good luck with Centric setups on other vehicles and was looking for input from the group for which setup is preferred, OE or some aftermarket.

Zimmerman rotors and Akebono pads are well regarded, do a search and you'll find lots of info.

I went close to the Centric route (R1 Concepts) and have had no issues since installation, I also rebuilt the calipers and flushed the fluid.

Centric rotors and centric ceramic pads. Been at least a year so far so good

I would consider OEM, though they are expensive (I paid 800 for front pads/rotors and 600 for the rear ones). However, it was well worth it because they feel awesome.

Holy sh*t!!! I don't want to tell you what the OEMs cost but it sure isn't anywhere close to $1400. Anyway..if you're happy thats all that matters.

What would be the actual cost of parts (and labor at a non- dealer location)?

I went with R1 Concepts and a little under $500 including shipping for the following. Used them based on previous vehicle use (2011 Honda Accord) and they worked on that pretty good.

All items Front/Rear Left/Right Unless noted.. All four corners in modern day language.

Slotted Rotors: I ordered the E-Line series but with delay due to not in stock I was given a FREE UPGRADE to the Carbon Geomet Series. The only difference is that the Geomet series protective coating is zinc instead of black.

Ceramic Pads E series

Front and Rear Hardware replacement kit, shims, slide pins, brackets etc...

Brake Pad wear sensors. I thought I ordered four but received eight. Is there one per wheel or Two? (as in Inboard/Outboard)

Dealer Prices Down Under

Hi All,

If you think $1400 is expensive for front AND rear brakes - my MB Service Advisor at the last service quoted AU$1069 just for the rears (about US$1350). I said I would wait until the service indicator flashed up a warning. ECS have a genuine MB rotor, pad & wear sensor kit for about US$200 so I plan on doing my own servicing in future :)

Wow... So a set of OE spec carbon fiber/ceramic PowerStops for front and back - pads and rotors sensors would cost you $350 USD shipped here. Actual Genuine MB OEM would be about $500. I cant quote labor but if it took you more than 3 hours to do all four yourself I would be surprised. It's such an easy repair that it never occurs to me that people pay that kind of money to have it done, thats all.

I'm very pleased with my EBC rotors and red pads. Better initial bite than OEM, no dust, no noise, no fade

In my 2011, I had expected one per wheel but it was one wear sensor on passenger side of front and rear wheels. Two total per car.
