Scanned/ bad fuel cap?
Went over a speed bump (not speeding) and the check engine light came on. WTH? That's weird! Did something come lose? So Sunday stopped by my local AutoZone and the kid scanned it for me. What? Fuel cap? This car is a 2014 with only 46,000 miles. How can the gas cap be bad. Gotta call the dealer, but before we do that let's look at Ebay and Amazon. My car is a flex fuel car and has a gas cap that reads Ethanol E-85 Premium fuel car, but I cant find it on either sites. What is the part number for the fuel cap or the fuel cap seal? All I find is caps and seals years 10-13. Here's a pic of my cap and the O ring seal. https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-2006-20....c100005.m1851

2014 E550-sold 😩
I also doubt it is anything other than a loose cap.

What was the actual code? P0440?
Not sure if it was a one time thing or is recurring.
One of the best things you can have for any vehicle is an inexpensive obd2 scanner.

I agree with the others. This is not an unusual code. The bump might have jarred the cap just enough to give a false reading. Wouldn't be concerned unless it repeats again.
