Noise coming from Engine or Transmission

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem, I started my car the other morning and I heard a noise so the next time i turned my car off and turned it back on i was able to record this, it sounds serious.

That does not sound good at all.
Check the fan shroud area and along the serpentine belt, you might have difformed plastics or something stuck in there.

No CEL? Sounds like it’s running really rich. Where do you buy gas and is it 93?

Take the serpentine belt off for and see if the sound repeats at start-up. If it's gone then you've started to narrow down possible issues. Do not run the engine more than a minute! Water pump and alternator won't be running. You'll probably get a cel for the alternator control module but it can be cleared.
To me it sort of sounds like something peripheral, not an engine internal.

Depending on your engine # check valves & chain tensioners may need replacement. If engine # is within affected range ague for MB goodwill repair given defective parts were installed @ production.

I use 91 Octane and no unfortunately no CEL that would at least narrow the problem, the only thing wrong at the moment would be the battery i need to get replace, which is weird because i bought it less than a year ago.

> If you are refering to the startup rattle... the timing chain TENSIONERS fix is perfectly documented by @konigstiger under post #8.

Knock on wood perhaps its just your serpentine belt gone loose.
🤞
